Rabbi Eliezer Ben David, shlit"a
The Ohr HaEmet institutions was opened fifty years ago by our teacher, Rabbi Eliezer Ben David, shlit"a, with the establishment of the Ohr HaChaim institution in Bnei Brak. The institution was a dream that turned into reality.
From there our teacher, the Rabbi, shlit"a continued to Argentina and in Buenos Aires he established and mentored the community of Shuba Israel for twenty years raising tens of Rabbis, Torah students, and Jewish leaders of South America. The n he continued to Mexico where he laid the foundation for the Shuba Israel-Mexico community which is the center for the Israelis who are living in the area.
The Rabbi then continued to Chicago , Illinois where he gathered a large group of boys who fled Iran during the fearful reign of the Khomeini Shah. During the year that the Rabbi resided there he guided and taught the boys to grow and prosper in Torah along with establishing the Ohr HaEmet boy's school in Toronto in which today numbers hundreds of students.
In due course, the Rabbi also established and guided the Iranian communities in New York and Los Angeles who's many families found a spiritual leader in the Rabbi. The se communities are the backbone of the religious Jews in Great Neck, New York and Beverly Hills , California and many, many see Ohr HaEmet as a model to impersonate.
As of today, after the rest of the communities, through Hashem's help, have successfully continued to flow, the Rabbi has dedicated most of his energies to the Ohr HaEmet community of Elad. The strength and spirit of Rabbi Ben David, shlit"a stood and continues to stand for the good of the Jewish community even moments of difficulty in the process of progress were accepted positively. The Rabbi participates in all aspects of the community and has a fundamental involvement in every matter. |
