The central synagogue in "Ohr Zaru'ah" has undergone great changes from the time it was founded till today, functioning not only as a House of Prayers for the local Jews – especially the Yemenite community – but also as a "shtiebel", with regular minyanim throughout the day, both during weekdays as well as on Shabbosos and Yamim Tovim.
The synagogue is bustling with activity during all hours of the day – and night. In addition to the early-morning Vasikin minyan, several Shacharis, Mnichah and Ma'ariv minyanim – the synagogue also holds numerous social activities, Torah lectures, a Kollel and Chavrusah learning, as well as a huge Jewish library.
The Nussach of the davening is the Nussach of the holy Ari, and the customs and traditions pursued by the congregants are Yemenite, brought to Eretz Yisrael by the Yemenite Chachamim.
The local youth also regard the synagogue as a place for spiritual strengthening, and find their way there after long and tiring school-days to seek assistance in spiritual growth.
