The "Ohr Zaru'ah" institutions were founded twenty years ago by HaRav HaGa'on Rabbi Ya'ir Bashari in the city of Rosh Ha'ayin. As the saying goes, all beginnings are difficult, and so was the very first initiative of founding"Ohr Zaru'ah" by a mere handful of young Ba'alei Teshuvah who yearned for Yiddishkeit in Rosh Ha'ayin, leading them to open up a Kollel there.

As the years went by, the"Ohr Zaru'ah" institutions expanded to include various activities in Torah, Avodah and Gemilus Chassadim. The"Ohr Zaru'ah" institutions of today are comprised of several kindergartens, a Cheder with 300 students, a Kollel with forty avreichim, Hasmachah for Rabbanus, a central synagogue resembling the "shtieblach", an assortment of Jewish educational courses like Sofrus, Nikkur and Shechitah, as well as a special project called "the Mishnayos and Tehillim Project".

"Ohr Zaru'ah" has also founded several organizations for women, like the "Ezer Layoledet" organization which offers assistance to new mothers, or the NACHLA organization which provides special activities for the Jewish woman. We at"Ohr Zaru'ah" have plenty of plans for the future, such as a playgroup for small children, a Yeshivah Ketanah, a Seminary for high-school girls, and much, much more. Only adequate resources would enable us to pursue these dreams, resources which we, unfortunately, can not acquire without help from the outside. For that purpose, we are in need of generous donations that would make the expansion of our institutions in Rosh Ha'ayin possible.
