Talmud Torah Rav Pealim was established in the year 1985 in the name of the Rabbi Yosef Chaim- the Ben Ish Chai, z"l under the recommendation and guidance of Rabbi Ben Zion Aba Shaul, z"l the principal.
In the Talmud Torah great emphasis is placed on the teachers to be G-d fearing who have good educational skills, who share with the administration in proper investment in the students' future.
According to the teachings of Rabbi Ben Zion Aba Shaul, z"l: at age 5 the student needs to know how to read.
The administrator, Rabbi Yehuda Shemesh prepared a teaching plan for reading:
From age 3:The children learn to recognize the letters and from there the vowel sounds. Additionally, the students learn basic ideas such as number recognition and Tehillim. The children also learn Parshat Hashavua and about chagim and their importance.
From age 4:The students learn to join letters to make syllables and afterwards to read full words. The children then learn to read complicated words such as from davening and the like. Also, they learn Pirkei Avot and Shir Hashirim with understanding of the words meaning. The games play help to develop thought and word enrichment and also to develop good motor skills.
From age 5:The children read fluently and precisely. They also learn to read and write cursive writing. At this point basic math is taught to them. Also, their learning includes Parshat Hashavua, Hilchot Shabbat, Shmirat Halashon and more.
