Visiting Sick Patients

The Bikur Cholim organization was established to help and support sick patients. The volunteers give their time and effort for the benefit of the patients. They offer encouragement not only to the patients but also to the patients' families.

Week day, Shabbat or holiday, the volunteers are always there. For example, when the Jewish nation is seated at the Seder table, the Bikur Cholim volunteers are running a Seder in hospitals. This is how the patients and their companions receive the beauty of the holidays through the help of the bikur Cholim volunteers.

The organization has invested many resources in order to ease the suffering of sick children and to help their families. With this intention, the organization bought various games and computers and also arrange for children's show given by magicians and jugglers.

Shabbat

The Shabbat and Chag Support system of the organization was founded for the welfare of the community to support needy families. This system functions in Elad where many families live without the means of support.

The system gives essential financial aid throughout the year and especially for Shabbat and Chagim when expenses are higher than normal. During the high holiday period, food distribution includes basic needs which are expensive. These distributions which include most of the cities in Israel accumulate to millions of shekels.

The organization also has "guest rooms" for the benefit of visitors who have no alternative sleeping options.

Home Improvements

The "home improvement" department of the organization is comprised of a group of professionals including electricians, plumbers, carpenters and many others who go to homes of widows and orphans to do repairs without charge.

In the offices of Ata Imadi sits an energetic secretary who listens to the requirements of needy families who then refers them to the professional fit to help.

Vehicles

The organization arranges for patients and their families to be transported in specially enhanced ambulances. This ambulance service enables visitors to arrive from the cities of Gush Dan to the different hospitals.

A special delivery service operates to bring personal items from home straight to the patient's hospital bed.

Also, many use the ambulance service to ease the travelling to medical treatments .

On Shabbatot, the ambulances are run by non-Jews who offer emergency services to the Elad residents.
